Something NEW with Subway Tile

My husband and I had an AH-HA moment and came up with our white subway tile backsplash pattern!  We had never seen this done before, have you?  We decided white subway tile was the answer in our small galley kitchen because we were choosing two different countertops for each side.  Black granite remnant for the sink, or wet, side (got it for $36 per sq./ft. installed; normally $46 per sq./ft.)  butcher block from ikea for the cooking side.

We played around with the idea of pattern to create some interest with the boring white tile and this is what we came up with!  Check out my Kitchen Vision Board for inspiration.

Here are some before pictures and under construction images of the kitchen.  It is almost complete!  I will post the final images in the hopefully near future.  Don’t let these images fool you.  The sink was totally rusted and the cabinets were so rotted it literally took my husband only 20 minutes to gut the entire kitchen.
